Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cookbond's iOS app and website handle information when you use our services.

1. Account and App Content

• When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and the information that provider shares with us, which may include your email address.
• We store the recipe collections, recipes, and cover images you create, along with the Moments photos you choose to upload, so they can be available with your account.
• Your onboarding answers about cooking habits, challenges, and goals are saved with your account after sign-in. Names entered during onboarding stay on your device.
• Meal plans (including reminder times) and shopping lists are stored with your account. Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to operate Cookbond, show your saved content, manage subscription access, respond to support requests, and understand how the app and website are used.

• If you join the Android waitlist, we store your email address, signup date, the notice you agreed to, and referral information when present. We use your email to notify you when Cookbond is available on Android. Joining the waitlist does not create an app account or subscribe you to a general newsletter.

3. Partner Pairing

• If you invite a partner, we create an invite code linked to your account. Codes expire, and you can create a new code or cancel the invite at any time.
• When your partner accepts, we store the link between your two accounts. Your Moments photos, meal plans, and shopping list are then shared with your partner, and meal plans show which of you added them.
• If you have an active subscription, we use this link to give your paired partner premium access.
• Either of you can unpair at any time. After unpairing, you each keep your own moments and plans.

4. Payments and Analytics

• Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat processes subscription events, and we store subscription status, product, and relevant dates. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• PostHog receives app usage events and account-linked properties, including onboarding choices and subscription status. Names entered during onboarding are not sent to PostHog.
• Our website uses Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights, and PostHog to measure visits, download button clicks, and performance.

5. Photos and Visibility

Moments photos are stored in private storage and shown through temporary links to you and, if you are paired, your partner. Cover images uploaded for your own recipes or collections use public image links, so anyone with such a link may be able to view the image.

6. Retention and Your Choices

We keep account and content information while needed to provide Cookbond and retain records where needed for subscription administration or legal obligations. You can delete your Moments photos, recipes, and collections in the app. We retain Android waitlist information until the launch notification is sent or you ask to be removed. To leave the waitlist or request access to, correction of, or deletion of other information, email support@cookbond.co.

7. Security

We use account authentication and access controls to protect account data and private Moments photos, and to limit shared content to you and your paired partner. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy as our services or data practices change. The Last Updated date above shows when this version was published.
